We took on the third St Marys team, St Mary’s Orange. After they scored their first goal in the first 10 seconds ( Yes the backline was a bit slow on the uptake) we got our act together scoring the equaliser fairly quickly.

 It was definitely shown as our first game of the season with some of the basics ( like leading in front of the defender and trapping the ball) on a holiday for the first half. Having said that I thought we looked liked we should have won.  It is only because the older fullback couldn’t turn quickly enough and chase their forward that they scored the second goal ( and I thought I had improved my fitness!!).

 Welcome to all of our new players and also those who have come back after a break. Shayla certainly had an impact on the forward line and it is very nice to have a proper goalie backing us up, thanks Sam.  Both Dani and Angela showed they haven’t lost any of their skills or fitness and Clarky was a solid as ever in the backline.

 Of course all of the return players from last year also put in a good effort.

 Hope you guys win the next game I will be thinking of you while I watch Lizzy play for the Hockeyroos.
